Learning & Community
We are launching book clubs here at the Grand Rapids Chess Center and are excited to bring this to our community. These book clubs will grow with our community. What is our purpose? To combine a unique blend of learning, chess enrichment, and community all in one!
How They Work
You will sign up for a given book club. Usually running anywhere from 6-12 weeks. The book club will work together on a given book. You will receive a syllabus containing a schedule with an overview of the main learning objectives for that given section. The meetings will be hosted online through a Zoom meeting setting. These meetings will be a richly rewarding experience. The instructor will lead an open discussion on the section/chapters where you will be able to share your experience with the book. Then, the instructor will walk you through the instructional elements from the portions you have read.
These meetings will be hosted on the Zoom platform, with an invitation being sent out to all members of the book club. A reading schedule will be sent out as you enter.
