An essential part of the mission of the G.R.C.C. is to support the growth of scholastic chess in the Grand Rapids and Greater Grand Rapids area. Below you will see a listing of our initiatives. GRCC Scholastic Summer Academy
We are proud to announce the GRCC 2021 Summer Academy! It will be an 4-6 week scholastic academy program designed for students 2nd – 12th grade. We will schedule this on Saturdays to fit the schedules of most families. The GRCC will staff 1 lead teacher and we will need several volunteer facilitators. 4-6 meetings (depending on registration level) during June and July. The basic registration will be for four weeks granting you access to meetings from the 5th to the 26th. The premium enrollment will give you access to all six meetings. All abilities and levels are invited to all six meetings if you register for all six.
1st Meeting – June 5th
2nd Meeting – June 12th
3rd Meeting – June 19th
4th Meeting – June 26th
5th Meeting – July 10th
6th Meeting – July 17th
We will be breaking the registrations into groups of 20 students each and a maximum of two groups total. If there is only one group then the schedule will be adjusted.
Group #1 Arrival – 10:45-11:00
Group #1 Class and Play – 11:00-12:15
You must pre-register for the event by claiming your spot via email. Download the form, fill it out, and bring a cash payment on the day of the first meeting. To claim your spot please email firstname.lastname@example.org.

Basic Enrollment – Attend Meetings 1-4 – $120
Premium Enrollment – Attend All Meetings – $140
Family Max: If a family has 4 or more students they would pay a maximum of $400 for the basic level and a maximum of $450 for the premium enrollment.
